This Privacy Policy applies to DROdio.com and the services made available through it (the “Site”), operated by Daniel R. Odio (“DROdio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It does not cover third-party sites or services that have their own privacy policies.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Site, we may collect:
- Account information. If you create or use an account, we receive identifiers and profile details from our authentication provider, such as your name, email address, and sign-in method.
- Newsletter information. We collect your email address, subscription status, and content preferences. If you request personalized updates, we may also collect a LinkedIn handle and the profile details you provide.
- Conversations and requests. When you use the Site’s AI chat or contact features, we process the messages you submit, generated responses, and related context. If you choose to pursue a consultation or other follow-up, we may also collect your name, company, role, and phone number.
- Personalization information. At your direction, we may use a LinkedIn handle or other identifier to find public professional information, including public LinkedIn and GitHub information, and create a profile used to personalize the Site.
- Technical information. We receive information such as IP address, device and browser details, request timestamps, and basic security or rate-limit events. The Site also stores preferences and session continuity data in your browser, including theme, personalization, and chat state.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information unless you choose to include it in a message. Please do not submit confidential, regulated, or highly sensitive information through the AI chat.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, personalize, maintain, and secure the Site;
- authenticate users and preserve preferences;
- answer questions and operate AI-assisted features;
- send requested newsletters, confirmation messages, and service communications;
- respond to inquiries and qualify requested follow-up;
- prevent abuse, enforce limits, debug problems, and improve quality;
- comply with law and protect our rights and users.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract, consent, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Site, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.
3. AI and public-source personalization
The Site uses artificial intelligence to generate answers and personalization. Messages and relevant profile context are sent to service providers that process them on our behalf. AI output can be incomplete or wrong, and public profile information can be outdated.
When you request personalization, we may retrieve publicly available professional information through search and public APIs, then use AI to summarize it. We use that result to tailor content and answers. We do not make employment, credit, housing, insurance, or other legally significant decisions about you from this profile.
Chat transcripts are not published, indexed as public site content, or added to the Site’s public knowledge base. They may be retained privately to provide the feature, maintain context, investigate abuse, and improve reliability.
4. When we share information
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information:
- to vendors that help run the Site, including hosting, database, authentication, email, public-web research, AI model, storage, and security providers;
- to professional advisers or a successor in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale, subject to appropriate protections;
- when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, and the integrity of the Site;
- when you direct us or give us permission.
Current infrastructure and service providers may include Vercel, Neon, Clerk, Resend, Exa, GitHub, and AI model providers. Links, embedded media, and social platforms such as LinkedIn, X, and YouTube may collect information under their own policies when you interact with them.
5. Cookies and browser storage
We and our service providers use cookies or similar browser storage needed for authentication, security, preferences, personalization, and continuity of Site features. We do not currently use this storage to serve behavioral advertising. Blocking it may cause parts of the Site to stop working or forget your preferences.
6. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including providing the Site, maintaining security, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information and why we collected it. We may keep a minimal record of an unsubscribe request so we do not email that address again. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it where reasonably practicable.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any such message. You can also clear local Site data using your browser settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
To make a request, email privacy@drodio.com. Please describe the request and the email address or account involved. We may need to verify your identity before acting. You may also have a right to contact your local data-protection authority.
9. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can address it.
10. International processing
We and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Site changes. We will post the revised version here and change the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when required by law.
12. Contact
Privacy and unsubscribe-related requests can be sent to privacy@drodio.com. For general questions, email hello@drodio.com.
